Maintenance: Update – DC5 ESXi host upgrades

As part of our commitment to quality and continual improvement, we will be performing maintenance upgrades on our DC5 ESXi server estate.

This is to ensure the servers have the latest VMware updates. The DC5 environments in scope for upgrade are

Easymail Pro
Cloudsure Zone 2 (DC5-Enterprise01)

What will happen?

Our infrastructure team will put the ESXi servers into maintenance mode and install the VMware updates.

Hosts in each environment will be upgraded one at a time and there will be no downtime to your VMs.

When will the work be carried out?

The maintenance work will begin at 09:30 (GMT) on Thursday, 7th March 2024 and be completed before 17:30 (GMT) on Thursday, 21st March 2024 (excluding weekends).

Who will be completing the work?

All maintenance activities will be completed by our iomart infrastructure engineers.

Will I experience downtime?

As with any upgrade or maintenance work, there is a slight increased risk to services.

However, during the maintenance window there will be no downtime and VMs, workloads and services will continue to operate as normal.

Maintenance: Update – DC2 London National Network Upgrade – Part One

As part of our commitment to quality and continual improvement, we will be increasing the capacity of our DC2 London to Equinix LD5 and DC2 to Telehouse North connectivity.

What will happen?

Our network engineering team will be migrating our secondary core to our newly provisioned circuits between DC2 London, Telehouse North and DC2 London, Equinix LD5.

The circuits will undergo testing then traffic will be routed to use this new service.

When will the work be carried out?

The maintenance work will begin at 23:00 (GMT) on Friday 15th of March and last until 05:00 (GMT) on Saturday the 16th of March.

Who will be completing the work?

All of the work will be completed by our experienced iomart network and infrastructure team.

Will I experience downtime?

During the maintenance window, customers may notice variations in latency whilst the new links are brought into service.

This is expected to last no longer than a couple of seconds.

The maintenance has been classified as low risk.

Scheduled Maintenance Notification – March 21 2024

DC2 London National Network Upgrade – Part Two

As part of our commitment to quality and continual improvement, we will be increasing the capacity of our DC2 London to Equinix LD5 and DC2 to Telehouse North connectivity to 80G

What will happen?

Our network engineering team will be migrating our primary core to our newly provisioned 40G circuits between DC2 London, Telehouse North and DC2 London, Equinix LD5.

The circuits will undergo testing then traffic will be routed to use this new service.

When will the work be carried out?

The maintenance work will begin at 23:00 (GMT) on Thursday 21st of March and last until 05:00 (GMT) on Friday the 22nd of March.

Who will be completing the work?

All of the work will be completed by our experienced iomart network and infrastructure team.

Will I experience downtime?

During the maintenance window, customers may notice variations in latency whilst the new links are brought into service.

This is expected to last no longer than a couple of seconds.

The maintenance has been classified as low risk.

Scheduled Maintenance Notification – March 28 2024

Maintenance: Update – Storage Array Upgrade of Operating System and Disk Firmware

As part of our commitment to quality and continual improvement, iomart will be carrying out planned work on 28/03/24.

The work will be an upgrade to the SAN Operating Environment (OE).

What will happen?

There will be no impact on 28/03/24, during the maintenance window 23:00 to 02:00 (GMT)

When will the work be carried out?

The maintenance work will begin at 23:00 (GMT) on 28th Mar and last until 02:00 (GMT) on 29th Mar.

Who will be completing the work?

Dell EMC support will complete all of the work remotely.

Will I experience downtime?

No downtime is expected but as with any upgrade or maintenance work, there are risks present.

To mitigate these risks the Dell SAN system is an active/active system and the partner service processor will take over the tasks of the upgraded service processor during the reboot that is required once the firmware has been applied.

All storage paths to each storage processor are also served via redundant storage fabrics.

Iomart has also established the readiness for the upgrades and will perform a health check before commencing.

In the unlikely event of a firmware upgrade failure, the firmware will not be installed and the system will remain as is.

Maintenance: Update – Storage Array Upgrade of Operating System and Disk Firmware

As part of our commitment to quality and continual improvement, iomart will be carrying out planned work on 29/03/24. The work will be an upgrade to the SAN Operating Environment (OE).

What will happen?

There will be no impact on 29/03/24, during the maintenance window 23:00 to 02:00 (GMT)

When will the work be carried out?

The maintenance work will begin at 23:00 (GMT) on 29th Mar and last until 02:00 (GMT) on 30th Mar.

Who will be completing the work?

Dell EMC support will complete all of the work remotely.

Will I experience downtime?

No downtime is expected but as with any upgrade or maintenance work, there are risks present.
